FLUID TIP DYNAMICS
We’ve completely re-engineered the fluid tip design for the DV1 using our unique Laminar Flow ArchitectureTM. The new range of fluid tips have been engineered to provide the smoothest path for fluid to travel resulting in faster application rates, more stable flow rates and consistent performance, particularly with the latest, very low viscosity materials.
The DeVilbiss engineers have stabilised the primary atomisation zone within the fluid tips and Laminar Flow ArchitectureTM technology significantly reduces the turbulent energy that can be found within the tips. What does this mean to you? Improved efficiency, a reduction in material consumption and even more control over application regardless of paint brand and climatic conditions.

THE AIR CAP
Precision engineered in solid brass, even the air cap has undergone a technical revolution. Precision drilling and advanced Air Management KineticsTM have taken atomisation performance to
a new level, whilst significantly reducing noise. The cap also features a fast action thread ensuring rapid removal and replacement.
Professional automotive refinishers know that the key to performance in any spray gun is what’s known as “the front end”. The fluid tip and needle and of course, the all important air cap. With the DV1 we’ve achieved world-beating atomisation with high application speeds, at lower air pressures. We’ve learnt how to control the chaotic event that occurs every time the trigger is pulled. The result is superior atomisation performance, by maintaining a consistent particle size throughout the spray pattern, ensuring accurate colour reproduction and flake lay, even with the notoriously difficult, highly pigmented silver basecoats. This means you get the job right first time, every time - reducing material consumption and maximising your earnings potential.

Take for example, the air control valve. For the first time ever, we’ve combined it with the air inlet. This gives you a more consistent air flow, but it also makes the gun lighter and easier to clean, as there’s one less part.
The components are quick to remove and low maintenance, which results in time savings. Critical in business. And what’s more, they’re tough. Everything’s made to last. Even down to the PTFE coated springs. So, there’s no need to keep changing parts. You can focus on the job in hand.
Revolutionary Air Cap
The new DV1-B PLUS air cap represents the next generation of atomization performance. This new HLVP air cap delivers high efficiency performance but at HVLP pressures, producing a smooth, fine finish even with the most stubborn basecoats. The DV1-B PLUS air cap is suitable for both water-based and solvent-based materials.
New Front End Architecture
The new front end of the DV1 features an improved Air and Fluid Management Architecture to create superior atomization performance and to meet the requirements of spraying the most challenging basecoats on the market today. The DV1 produces a perfectly balanced and consistent spray pattern to achieve precise color matches, seamless transitions and blends, and remarkably smooth finishes – as well as superlative metallic orientation and control.
Simplified Air Valve
The newly designed air valve cartridge features a True-Balance design to maximize fluid needle alignment, minimize component wear and maximize durability. Plus, this new design allows for easier removal and serviceability.
Reconfigured Air Adjusting Valve
The DV1 combines the air inlet and the air-adjusting valve into a single “co-axial” component and places it in an ergonomic location that is more comfortable to use. The air-adjusting valve also features 12x sensitivity for precise air control adjustments and smoother air flow through the spray gun.
Precision Digital Gauge
The DV1 is equipped with an integrated digital gauge to provide precise inlet pressures for optimal gun performance and perfect color matching. The gauge is designed and placed in-line at eye-level for quick, easy checking – keeping it out of the way where it won’t be covered by the painter’s hand.
The DV1 features an innovative trigger design to remove sideways and rotary play from the trigger action, while maintaining the signature DeVilbiss fit and feel. Painters will enjoy a silent-action trigger with an exceptionally smooth, soft pull.
Next Generation Gun Body
The DV1 gun body features a reduced profile and a smoother, streamlined design to create a well-balanced gun with the right feel in the painter’s hand. Painters will get a sense of more control, and experience less fatigue, with a spray gun that is also easier to clean.
